Busbars
Since they provide the vital connections between the power module and the external environment, busbars are the foundation of the majority of power applications. This has been true despite the numerous design modifications that have taken place over the last few decades as the industrial, automotive, power, and motor industries have evolved. Busbars will continue to be a cornerstone in electrical power distribution moving forward, developing to meet changing application needs as the demand to conduct significant quantities of current in such applications grows. In this article, we define busbars and discuss how the integration of busbar functionality is changing dramatically in response to the growing complexity, speed, and small size of power applications.
